After years of vacationing in Maine and
wishing to live here, Tom and I made
it happen in 1997 and moved from
Michigan to Rockport, Maine.
We were fortunate to find a home in the Village of Rockport with
an ocean view and easy access to village and harbor activities.
Being a part of a small community that provides endless summer
options for adults and children is a real advantage. We can walk
to the library for good reads, programs and speakers, to the
Rockport Opera House for wonderful concerts arranged by the
Bay Chamber, to the Maine Center for Contemporary Art
openings and exhibits, to the Maine Media Workshops for classes
or wine tastings at new "Villa" of Cellardoor winery, a wonderful
new addition down the street.
Don't feel like cooking breakfast? Walk to the Rockport Corner
Shop for a hearty feast of pumpkin pancakes and local gossip.
Want to learn how to sail? Let us know and we'll hook you up with
The Rockport Boat Club's sailing coordinator. Classes available
for children and adults.
Want someone else to do the sailing while you take pictures? The
area offers beautiful day trips on the schooner Olad (out of
Camden) and package trips on the Timberwind in Rockport
Harbor.
Want to see the latest Rockport Marine project or view the next
launching? Walk across the street and take a peek. They are
always accommodating to guests.
A wonderful walk around Beauchamp Point awaits you or perhaps
you'd rather drive 5 mintues to hike Maiden's Cliff or Ragged
Mountain.
Need some retail therapy? The best is only a 1.5 mi drive or stroll
into fabulous Camden.
We're happy to share this with you. So make this vacation
comfortable and a family memory never to be forgotten.
